Astăzi este ziua în care se aşteaptă ca toate recordurile în materie de cumpărături să fie depăşite, toţi clienţii făcându-şi ultimele cumpărături de Crăciun. Visa Europe estimează că va procesa peste 27 milioane de tranzacţii pe data de 23 decembrie în toată Europa, în valoare de aproximativ 1,4 miliarde euro, cu aproape 10% mai mult decât anul anterior. Cel mai aglomerat moment este aşteptat pe 24 decembrie, între orele 11.00-12.00, când Visa estimează că va înregistra până la 850 de tranzacţii pe secundă, faţă de 731 în 2008.
„Statisticile arată că oamenii cheltuiesc încă în perioada dinaintea Crăciunului. Vânzările online au înregistrat deja cifre record şi ne aşteptăm ca centrele comerciale să încaseze venituri considerabile“, spune Steve Perry, director comercial al Visa Europe. Studiul Visa se bazează pe datele privind volumul tranzacţiilor de până acum şi pe comportamentul de plată în preajma Crăciunului din anii anteriori.
